Your City Is Yours

The city of Fukuoka has been undergoing rapid urban development in recent years in Japan, and buildings are frequently being destroyed and rebuilt. We, the citizens, are so passive to the rapid changes in the city that we almost forget to actively change the city. The success of urban development does not depend on the change of the city, but the change of the city depends on us, the citizens, voluntarily thinking about the future of the city and taking action. In this project,

I expressed the world that is open to diversity which I have seen in my life abroad by making a collage of Fukuoka's buildings. I hope that the city will become a place where people of different ages, genders, nationalities, and skin colors can mix and innovate by putting together in a single photograph object of different shapes, materials, and colors, as well as years of construction.
