Instagram displays 500 million stories a day. Mundal events or advertisements disappear within 24 hours. Being a convenient tool of information sharing, it gives us a sense of security that people are connected, but the actual distance between us does not change. We receive information from neighbors and people that live in another Hemisphere at the same speed. I took screenshots of Instagram stories and applied a digital error — the images turned out as distorted as the online communication can be compared to the offline interaction. These photos, as Instagram stories, represent the present moment: neither past nor future. They depict communication errors and selectiveness of information that we receive — through the distance — online by Ekaterina Bodyagina

友人の日常の些細な出来事、広告など様々な情報が24時間以内に消える。気軽に互いの情報をシェアする便利なツールである事で、人と人が繋がっている安心感が持てるが、実際に私たちが持つ現実の距離は変わらない。数千キロ離れている海外、隣の家の住人の情報も同じ速度で、同じようにデータとして表示される。データが届く瞬間にあげられるダウンロードされる最中のビジュアルは、過去でもなく未来でもなく現在を象徴している。現在における距離ではない、人と人とのコミュニケーション。情報化される社会における情報の曖昧さをを描いた。
